The Joy Reo Trio
My “side hustle” as a professional jazz vocalist began in 2014. The Joy Reo Trio is a Boston-based cabaret jazz band, offering soulful, sassy, and classy torch songs, tender ballads, and show tunes from the 1920s to the 2020s! I’m the vocalist, Molly Flannery plays piano/keys, and Diane Heffner is on clarinet and saxophone.
Molly Flannery has been a prominent pianist on the New England jazz scene for decades. Diane Heffner has been a lifelong performer in classical and jazz; when she’s not grooving with the Joy Reo Trio or other ensembles, she’s playing with acclaimed orchestras such as The Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, and the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale.
